TimeLine

11:45:  Registration opens on the corner of Park Street and Bakers Gully Road and vehicles begin muster in the order allocated at registration. If you have a vehicle, please be early.

12:45:  Vehicles to be assembled in their allocated spot

13:15:  Participants associated with floats to be assembled

13:45:  Parade begins – much fun is had.

Important Notes

  1. Vehicles not in the parade to be kept out of the assembly area in Bakers Gully Road and Park St. Check with the marshal at Park St/Bakers Gully Road corner.
  2. All vehicles to be appropriately registered and roadworthy and drivers correctly licensed for the type of vehicle used.
  3. You will be given a float number. This is NOT the number of your position in the parade (allocated separately). It is to identify you for the commentators and judges. Put it in a prominent place on the driver’s side of the vehicle so it can be easily seen from the front.
  4. You will be told your position in the parade by one of the Autumn Festival Parade marshals. Please follow the instructions of the marshals along the parade route.
  5. Once you have started in the parade keep your float at least 25-30 metres (one and half bus lengths) back from the float in front of you.
  6. Keep your floats going at a consistent speed. Do NOT speed up after you have passed the Clock Tower or along Gavan St. (Great Alpine Road).
  7. Any giveaways to be distributed by participants walking alongside the float and not thrown from the float into the crowd.
  8. Throwing objects to and/or the collection of money from parade spectators is prohibited.

At the end of the parade

  1. The official part of the parade finishes at the Gavan St/Camp St corner.
  2. Give your float number to a marshal before you depart the parade.
  3. Vintage Cars wishing to display their cars in Centenary Park are to turn into Centenary Park through the Memorial Gates opposite Camp St (ramp will be available). Those with Autumn Festival Ambassador entrants can dismount their entrants just inside the gates in the park.
  4. Those who do not wish to display their cars are to dismount their entrants in Mountbatten Ave (see below)
  5. Floats without participants to dismount or dismiss can continue down the Gavan St.
  6. Floats that have participants to dismount or dismiss are to do so at the Camp St/Gavan St intersection at the end of the closed road area.
  7. All participants are to dismount or dismiss from the LEFT hand side of their float on to the grass/gravel/pavement. Parents are to collect their children from the grassed area in Centenary Park. Dismount/dismiss your participants as quickly as possible and then move out through Mountbatten Ave straight away.

Thank you for your participation in the Autumn Festival Parade. We appreciate your time and effort in making the day a success, we hope to see you again in 2023.
